I don't have a 1.6, but I did just pick up a 2.0 diesel. Build quality is spot on inside and out. There is also more cabin room compared to my last Octy, particularly for back seat passengers. I think the boot is slightly deeper as well, but haven't measured that; I only compared it to a 2003 hatchback Octy.

I'm going to take some pictures soon, but I've been out and about enjoying driving it too much so the colour isn't black magic at the moment, more a muddy brown...

Hi Andy.

I've got a brand new Octavia Elegance 1.6 FSI.

I am still running it in but its performance is very good.

Both power and fuel consumption seem to be close to the quoted figures.

Also, it is very spacious, quiet and its roadholding/stability is impressive.

You can't go wrong. My advice: Ask for a test drive.
