I've recently changed mobile phones from a Nokia 5800 to the new Nokia N8. The phone connects automatically every time with the Superb, I can make and receive calls using the voice command interface. What's different is, when the 5800 received a text, it would show this on the information display and it could be read from there via the scroll wheels if I so wished. Now when I receive a text on the N8, the phone beeps to let me know but I can't access it from the car connection.

Have I set up the phone connection to the car wrongly? (bluetooth is enabled and the phone is set to be available to be seen by other devices) or is this just a feature missing from the N8? I'd be surprised if it was but does anyone know?

Yep - Remote Sim Mode wont be switched on on the phone.

On the phone it will be in Bluetooth > Tools or similar.

Hi, CanI ask what car and year you have. My car is a 2009 170cr and my phone contract is up, but worried about compatable phone, I like the Nokia N8 or N7 but worried incase they wont connect ue to them being smart phones.

Mine is a 2011 Superb elegance. The N8 connects automatically every time. There are better phones available (according to the reviews) but the N8 suits me. It has a very good camera (for a phone) with 12mps and hdmi connectivity. Depends what you want but in terms of connectivity the N8 is a good choice.
