CD changer for Skoda MS401 stereo

Featured Replies

Hi all, finally got around to posting on this great forum.

I would like to install a Grundig CD changer to my '98 Felicia but I am not sure which CD-changer models are compatible with the stereo in my car. I still have the original Grundig cassette type player fitted (model Skoda MS401) and it's working fine. Getting a bit fed up listening to old cassettes and Radio 2 to be honest! ;)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

well all i can say on this is that it should have a small blue iso plug on and i would try it to find out

yeah, the ones that I have been looking at all seem to have the blue 8-pin connector at one end with a round 13-pin at the other end. I suppose the round end plugs into the changer part and not the stereo itself.

Updating my own post here ;) Might help others if they are thinking about fitting a CD player to a Felicia.

I ended up purchasing a Grundig MCD36 6-disc changer and also a 8-pin round DIN to blue ISO plug from eBay for around £30 together (delivered). It's working fine with the Grundig MS-401 stereo. Bit of a hassle trying to work out how to get the head unit out of the facia without damaging anything, but used some of the advise other people have left on Briskoda. The wire coat hanger trick worked fine (best to cut using a hack saw so that the wire cuts nice and straight). Funny thing is that the lead cost more money than the actual CD changer did. Oh well, really pleased with it.

I fitted mine on the left hand side of the boot with the lead running along the passenger side, and under the mat into the back of the stereo.
