You've got your fog lights on

Featured Replies

That's something I was wondering about when I started this thread. It can't be cost surely, LED's aren't expensive. Maybe Skoda don't think it would fit with the image of the car? I guess Superb owners can be grateful that those who flash or point have at least seen us coming, even if they are confused and don't keep up with new vehicle regs!

VAG tend to reserve the use of LED's for the DRL function for the more desirable models...

Skoda: vRS / Octavia Scout

VW: Golf R32

Audi: High spec / xenon headlights

It doesn't apply to all new cars either. My factory built Caterham is brand new and it doesn't have DRL's. Maybe that's down to low volume type approval or something similar.

It doesn't apply to brand new cars but newly introduced models.

You can pick up a brand new Skoda Octavia S or SE tomorrow and it won't have DRL's. This is because the car was in production prior to the legislaion being introduced.

Skoda still fitted DRL's to those models with front fog lights despite not having to, the reason being is that DRL's have become a desirable feature.
