Had some seats made up for my car (which i'm not using any more as i'm buying a fabia RS) and found out that i can get a better price if i mass produce 5 pairs or more.

Oh did i mention these are Recaro sportster seats?.

Made by the same factory that produce the frame, plastics and adjustment mechanisms for Recaro, just with different material/fabric (actually better as you can choose, i have Australian nappa leather and Italian alcantara!) and no reclining feature (so 4 doors only).

Would this interest people?.

Got 2 pics of the unfinished one for my car:

The pics shown are of the unfinished seat, the plastics arent finished hence they look rougher, the final product will look perfect, anyway it gives you an idea.

Now my plan is to have these made up with green stitching and a VRS logo embossed on the top of the seat, possibly with carbon backs too...... not sure, it depends on final costs. (give you an idea i payed under £600 for the pair complete with fittings, so a group order pair will be cheaper than that)

So this is nothing concrete, if you have a fabia and want to lose a ton of weight then express some interest and i will get some prices and options put together

What happens with the airbags?

I like the sound of it carbon backs would be pricey i imagine so wouldnt have them but i would like all cloth instead of leather as well, would that further lower the price ? Also you say they are recaro i would want recaro and a vrs logo on it if possible

The carbon shouldnt cost more, i know this as i used to have scooter parts made and the process that these are made in can be substituted with carbon quite easily.

The sportsters use a FRP back, so replacing the fiberglass with carbon is very easy.

I am 100% serious about this, if people are interested shoot me a PM, i am open to any ideas in regards to the final design.

Even the genuine seats don't come with the airbag.

There is an option to add it though, at about $800us from recaro.

Hmm I see - sorry to ask but from your location I can gather you are situated in Taipei?

I only ask because I wonder how much shipping will be to Europe.

Not sure tbh, cant imagine it being too insane as the seats are pretty light and they fold up in a box..... i think :S

Once i have them in my hands i can measure/weigh them and get quotes for shipping.

normally id be interested but my seats are heated

They got the option to be heated too but again it brings the price too high :(
