Featured Replies

Am looking to get some LM's for my new Octy Rs FL and was wondering what the consensus is on them on a FL RS...some pics below for reference.

Cheers

Its nothing to do with whether they are reps or not, I just don't like the style. I still think the BBS CH are amongst the best looking wheels on the vRS.

Have a butchers through this thread, I think it will inspire you!

The second picture are BBS CH's by the way.

CHs, yes. LMs, no.

Not on an Octy2 anyway. IMHO, of course....

BBS LMs are truely epic wheels, but that's comming from the BMW scene as I'd love a set for my M3, but not as much as a set of BBS RSs (but they definately only suit older cars)!

I did find this photo of an Octavia running them and they look good to me:

Also found this Audi A4 which should give a rough idea as it's a vaguely similar shape to an octavia.

What size are you thinking of? I think you'd need to go for 19" for them to look good.

One thing to watch out for with replica wheels is the weight of them. If they are significantly heavier than the standard octavia wheels they'll slow the acceleration of the car and steering response slightly and might make your mpg worse.

Not denying they're an epic wheel, I like them a lot myself. Just that the design of them doesn't suit all cars. And the Octy2 is in that latter camp for me...

Cool, but I wanted to see the Octavia......it is a 'Skoda' forum after all! :moon:

Ok the Audi looks nice, but my opinion has been re-enforced seeing the Octy, in a word...........nasty!!

Those on the A4 are also enormous - 19 or 20s? And if they're genuine, mega money. And as Pagey says, that's not a Skoda - they suit the A4's shape better.

Trouble is on most modern cars is that the split-rim design of the LM makes them look naturally small. And then there's the issues surrounding using replicas - how strong will they be, potentially more liable to buckle, possibly quite heavy affecting MPG and acceleration etc etc etc...

Thanks for the replies....the LM's are the only aftermarket wheel that i like!!...So might just keep what i have and save the money....Have seen Ch's on a few golfs and they look alright but havent seen them on an FL rs so cant really say what theyd be like...unless someone has a pic of one?

Cheers

Kit :)

I'm pretty sure there aren't any mk2 Octavias on genuine LMs. Fitment is challenging on the genuine ones. Here are some fakes to give you an idea though...

Wardy behave yourself!!....stop putting ideas in my head!! ;)

Im going to wait til they are in the shop and then get them to put them on so i can have a look before i buy:)

They look good on OctiNik's car, but as Wardy says the general design of them means they look like a small wheel, the "problem" as I see it is that the spokes don't go right to the edge of the wheel, so they look stubby.

Please, please, please don't fit them on standard suspension. It's a crime, official!

Wardy is right, the only way you will get away with those rims, is if you are riding on Coilovers.
