Fabia might be going

Featured Replies

Today I am hoping to do a deal on a new Roomster 1.6 tdi, Im finding the Fabias 1.2 HTP is a little underpowered for what Im now using the car for and the local dealer has exactly the Roomster in stock that I want.

I have mentioned this in the Roomster section but its a little quiet in there! My only concern is the DPF, I do drive longer distances but my commute worries me a little. Its 13 miles and a mix of urban stop start and short lengths of dual carriageway. Will it be able to regenerate on that journey?

Been offered 6k for my Fabia 1.2 HTP level 2 with 25000 miles on which seems about right. Roomster is a 1.6 Tdi 105hp SE in the new blue with roofbars and 2 tone interior. Sad to see Skoda have deleted climatronic, airbag deactivation switch and glovebox cooler though.

6K seems a good price and the Roomster will be a good car, not the best looking on the block but won't be any uglier than my old Fiat Doblo.

Hi Lemon, I don't think you need worry at all about the DPF. I don't have one on my car as you know but I know many people, including my sister who has the 105cr1.6 Fabia Estate. No one is having any problems with the DPF. My sister now does just 5.5 miles to work each way and at weekends does a 16 mile run regularly. There is some back and forth to town but not much else. Every month she does an 80 mile weekend trip. She bought it new about 10 months ago and hasn't ever had a DPF light come on and is not aware of regens. She is getting between 58-62mpg all the time and recently managed 80.4mpg on a run. Impressive! Good luck mate with your new car purchase and as always, do tell on how you are getting on. Cheers!

Cheers guys, thats a relief re the DPF only a mate had a diesel Fiat 500 and it was always coming on and had to keep being reset by the dealer

I know the Roomy isnt as nice looking as the Fabia but we really need the extra oomph and economy now.... and it makes sense to get one over a Fabia again as the interior space is more flexible and I like the upright tailgate too. Just hope we can reach anaffordable deal!

Well, shes going Saturday. Dealer was great, they let me take a Fabia 1.6 105 out for as long as I wanted. Very good overall if a little heavier to drive than my HTP, and to be honest the HTP is a better town car but that diesel gives me the extra oomph I want.

So, I pick the Roomy up on Saturday morning.... they did a deal where I could have a 3 year PCP by buying my car for cash at 6k, then putting 4k down on the deposit and giving me back 2k in cash. Means I get the 3 years free servicing and lower monthly payments as I couldnt really afford to buy via normal HP.

Ill miss the HTP on my commute, but overall I think Ill enjoy the Roomster more as I love its silly shape :giggle: and its what I really wanted 2 years ago anyway.
