Superchips

Featured Replies

Just wanted to know if anyone had used them for a remap on the vrs2

Do they do a map for the Skoda vRS yet? I didn't see it showing on their site

superchips also are the only company to offer to warrenty the things that a remap viods on your manufacturer warrenty...

when i spoke to superchips about a week ago they said they had tried to produce a map but was still far to unstable to release.

lol... that doesn't bode well!

had superchips bluefin @ stage 1, 2 and 2+ on my octavia vRS and it was pants big style, so much so i paid out a further £500 to change tuner. The power delivery was rubbish and even after about 10 map adjustments it was still diabolical. It wasnt just mine either, there were about 5 other guys on here alone having the exact same experience. The k03 TFSI was quite finicky, and i guess since they're not VAG specific they struggled with the mapping. I know alot of tuners have found the 1.4TSI an awkward one to tune, and judging by they're response above, they are struggling more than most lol.

For me i see superchips as a jack of all trades master of none. they don't specialise in any area, they generalise over everything. Id go a VAG specific tuner every time.

The options i know of are

Shark performance

APR

P-Torque

REVO

IMO in that order of merit as well

Without twisting the knife to much more it does make me wonder how they managed to survive with the amount of bad reviews on their work. I've seen a couple of their Dyno print outs and looks like a 70yr old woman on a heroin come down drew it its so jaggedy.

Superchips have so many ok reviews purely because the cars they do are company cars driven by people who don't give a **** and haven't got a clue

So now that Revo do maps for the Ford Focus's does that mean they are off the list as they are no longer VAG specific?

I had Superchips on my Edition 30 and it was spot on.

What people fail to realise is that Superchips wont ring that last horsepower from your car. If you wish to push the envelope or continually want more then go elsewhere. If you want just more than standard then fill your boots.

Where they may not ne quite on the ball is with unlocking of the latest ECU's. ;)

That's being pedantic though ian. They still specilaise predominantly in VAG so of course they wouldn't be off the list.

Ref the guys with k04 tfsi they seem to have no issues with the bluefin, yet on the k03 tfsi it wasnt so much the low power but the shocking power delivery which was very erratic that was the problem. Had the power band been smooth like your bluefin was I wouldn't have changed.

Still admit though had superchips been able to crack the ecu, I would have considered them for longevity but more importantly, i would have wanted it done at their HQ and not at some dealer so I could make sure it was exactly how I wanted it

Yup and if I was being completely pedantic I would also point out that of all the companies you list only one is purely VAG. :D

However I'm not so I shan't but you started it. :p
