Felicia Key

Featured Replies

So....got a Felicia with just the one key. I understand I can get a spare cut and coded at Timpsons for (at least?) £60 from previous threads.

Relative to the cars value that's a major investment!

My question is if I lost the single key I have , can I still get a key coded from the registration/chassis no. from my Skoda dealer at £120 (or whatever it costs)?

£60 seems a bit steep. I was quoted £25 from a local independant key cutters in Holt Norfolk, shop around!

where do we get the blanks from though!! i have someone that will cut them for next to nothing if i provide the blank

Does that include cloning the immobiliser chip though, Sonner?

Perhaps I can get cheaper but my question is can you get a key even if you've lost the only one you've got?

Obviously if you can't it makes sense to get a spare even at £60...but if you can its probably worth risking having no spare..

chassis number (VIN) and proof of ownership i believe will do. much more expensive and a lot more bother than getting a spare cut tho :p

shop around as all they do is clone your chip in your key

just got a key done in timpsons for £35, they have the kit to read the transponder in the key so you dont need that code tag thingy

i really don't think mine has a transponder.. if it does i doubt it works

Nearly all felicia's have an immobiliser!

Hmmm I wonder if Timpson's prices are the same in every branch. £35 is about as much as I want to pay.

Well i swapped my ignition barrel lock when i got the car as a cheaper alternative to buying a spare key.(the new ignition barrel lock came with 2 keys)

i still have the other key attached to the keyring, as one key opens the bott and doors and the other starts the engine.

i know it means i still have only 1 key to get in the car but at the end of the day it's easy to get into a car(smash window) but i wanted a spare key to start the engine. this is why i can't believe my medium spec GLXi doesn't have an immobiliser

Its picking up the chip from the proximity to the ignition barrel by the sounds. I've heard of a few people when they've changed the keys over, they have taped the transponder chip under the dash and it has worked.
