tv in bedroom not finding all channels when searched

Featured Replies

Is there a way of boosting my signal to my tv in the bedroom? Got an amplified Ariel but when I do I search its not finding all the channels it should do? Eg bbc 1 and 2 and Dave are missing.

Is it an internal aerial?

yeah it is.prob better with a loft one yeah?

Search for the channels by using the best aerial you have access to (in another room if need be) also is the amplified aerial an adjustable one? Because with a digital signal too much power is as bad as not enough.

Is the aerial directional, and pointing in the right direction at the mast? What gain is it capable of? You really need at least 10, better 16 for digital from experience.

Our aerial is inside the loft, and signal is only usable with +16 gain.

That's a great idea gizmo! It's a flat one that fits on the wall behind the tv so it is hidden.

The one for all aerials can give very poor results in weak signal areas, I have never had much luck with them (especially the flat one) as they just don't give enough decent signal. Digital is very dependant in signal quality, and a booster will amplify all the background noise as well as the signal and in certain situations the result can be worse than a non amplified aerial.
