Any more news re Fabia 4X4 ?

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any more info on the possible limited run of 1500 Fabia 4X4's ?

Will it happen ?

What engine ?

etc.....

how will it happen... no vw group product using that floorpan is 4wd.. it is not possible w/o a lot of work and why would they do it to an old design?

I saw somewhere that a guy has had his Fabia modified with 4 motion gear I'll try and dig it out.

Theres been a few threads on here already about the 4x4 Fabia, and apparently there is already a running version. From the rumours, it will have Octavia running gear, but dont know how that will affect wheelbase and track etc...

Im guessing it will be the 2.0 FSI 150bhp, as in the Octavia 4x4. Question is a) will skoda commit to it, and B) will the UK get some !

If it does happen, it will be a limited run though, capitalising on the WRC.

Personally I'd like to see a 2.0 TDI with DSG 4x4, but I dont think that will happen somehow

But thats is a heavily modded one-off. As Paul said, there is no chance this side of heaven VW will sanction a one-off variant for one of its group models...its financial suicide.

:iagree:

IF its a petrol... it will probably be the 20vt 150bhp fwd

I wanna see that one off 4-motion jobby, get some info up on here ! :D

200bhp FSi Turbo Fabia. Depending on whether VAG decide that Skoda stay in rallying in the medium term.

I spoke to my dealer about this the other day, and the only response I got was 'I wouldn't be at all surprised'. And he wasn't his usual 'don't beleive the rubbish you hear on the internet' self.

So, reading between the lines, I imagine it might happen, as a WRC celebration, plus a VAG motorsport image booster, but it will be a very limited run and probably priced above 20k. That way it would be worht the development costs. Remember, Skoda is trying to move away from being a budget brand, so in a way, this car would make a lot of sense.

At least I have myself on the dealer's list if anything does come of it

And that's the reason so many have bought it as a VW/Seat/Audi etc alternative, because it has the build quality, residuals and most of the same materials at 75% of the cost.

Well, fair enough.

But, in my opinion, Skoda needs to move away from being a budget brand that attracts drivers because the products are cheap, and work towards being the slightly cheaper VW.

There will be no room for growth competing with Daewoo and Hyundai etc.

Hence the new Octy being nearly

I agree i drove the golf TDI 130 bhp MK V and its not as quick (Heavier) and not nearly as good build quality as the Fab vRS. :D

I think the Fab vRS is great, just worried as the seat get darker and darker in colour... need internal valet soon, bye bye 60 squid!!
