Recommended Posts

i didnt know i had to?

and this time its not got a fault code logged, so is this a new thread?

Check all the pipes going to and from the air filter box.

If you are getting plumes of smoke out the back start saving for a turbo.

hi superbia

no black smoke either!

other than the large pipes to the air filter what else is there to look for?

where is this n75 valve??

im going to interrogate the car latter to see if has logged any codes this time, but there wasnt anything yesterday

if it were a petrol id say if felt like a blocked filter

really tired of this car now and this is a good 130 mint elegance, god knows what levels of crapness these cars go to

any help will be much appreciated

put it on a scanner and no codes

There is a thin nylon pipe that comes from the bulkhead to the unit on the air filter box, if this isn't on you get no turbo, if it has a hole or isn't fully on you could get the same effect, happens a lot when changing the air filter, take the small cover off and you will see the pipes I'm on about.

Id check the MAF sensor on the air intake pipe unplug and see if it has an effect on the car when this unit starts acting up it can show up in several different complaints from black smoke, rattling like a donkey with loose teeth, spluttering, and one of them is very like what your describing. These are available spurious and very reliable around €40. Another remote possibility is the dump valve on the turbo sticking to check this when our driving and you lose power switch of the car and immediatly restart the valve will reset (be careful dont pull the key or you will lock the steering)
