Swap Bolero for MFD2

Featured Replies

Just taken my Bolero out to try a mates MFD2 in my FL Octavia and seem to have a problem plugging in the antenna (I think) lead. The Quadlock connector fits, the GPS antenna fits but then theres a lead that plugs into the bottom corner into the 2x round connectors, the gap between these round connectors is larger on the MFD2 hence it wont fit. Is there an adapter for this?

He wants to get it running in mine to test it as he hasnt got his car yet.

The Bolero uses two aerial connections, whereas the MFD2 only requires one. I used to have a MFD2 but can't remember what the connectors are like on the rear - are both connectors white? If one is yellow it is for a video input or output. My MFD2 was fitted with just a single aerial connection and worked fine.

You can get adapters from ebay - search for FAKRA adapter - usually most people need it the other way round ie they are trying to fit a Gen7 HU in to an older car and need to provide the HU with two connections but the loom only has one. I can't recall if they do them the other way round ie 2 into 1 instead of a splitter - they must be available though so that aftermarket HUs can be fitted.
