Disable bluetooth?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Bluetooth/phone.Is there any way to switch it off, or at the very least stop it from searching for the previous owners phone? Mine's a HTC desire so I can't connect it without that modification, which I'm not bothered about. I've tried in all the settings I can find with no luck. The phone section in Columbus set up is just blank apart from connect phone (I think).

I know it's only one press on the steering wheel back button to clear it but I just wish it didn't look in the first place.

Thanks.

You cannot turn the bluetooth off, but you can delete the previous phones pairing. There is however a technical issue, to delete pairing you must have at least one handset registered and connected to access the required menu on the maxidot screen.

Hi mannyo. So if I connect the wifes phone I'll then be able to delete both pairings, or will I be in the same position only with a different phone? I've got a feeling that's what you're saying, right?

You can delete both, even the currently connected handset.

Cheers mannyo. I tried to connect my wifes Sony Ericsson today but that was incompatible too. I'll just borrow everyones phone who comes to visit until I get one to connect.

Thanks again.

Nokia or Windows Mobile 6.5, or latest blackberry, in fact nearly all new handsets should work as long as remote sim access or simillar are enabled in the phones menu.
