VRS - How much insurance you pay/Age etc..

Featured Replies

Don't see the point to this thread as there are so many variables...

Still, 41, car's kept out in the street on the south side of Glasgow (have a lock up but only saves about £12 a year by telling the insurer it's garaged) - currently paying £330, but expect a nasty surprise come renewal in October, given the increases at present that are being driven by fraudulent claims.

36, all mods declared for 270(ish)bhp. £464.

Who's this with? Is that with a high voluntary excess?

I've seen some on here that I find hard to believe or more to the point think they have yet to renew this year.

The best I could get was through Skoda Insurance for me 31, clean license, non fault claim 2006 8yrs NCB plus the mrs, 30, clean license, 1 claim for carpark bump into bollard in 2009 on my 2006 Fabia vRS with eibach springs, rear anti roll bar, alloys and I think tints declared for £535. This includes all the usual legal stuff, business use plus driving other vehicles 3rd party with no voluntary excess.

I rang up to ask if they would cover a remap and was told it would be another £130! ouch.

Insurance has gone up loads this year. I was only paying £560 last year on a near 300bhp modified Audi TT.

Have you tried Adrian flux or other modified car insurers !

I've had some really good quotes from greenlight insurance for all kinds of modified cars.

Everyone is being quire descriptive and theres def a gap between those 30 odd and over and younger with the prices but at the end of the day its also down to postcode lottery!

30yrs 6ncb all mods decalred (200bhp) second driver nearly £700!!! coming from a 3.5 V6 290bhp which was only 100 more!!

I didn't specify as I'm not really into giving it billy-big-potatoes.

But basically I run my own transport company with a fair few vehicles and my fleet insurance policy is about £65,000 per year.

So they look after me on my own cars. No excess.

22 y.o. 4 years ncb clean licence no accidents (Northern ireland post code :() £750

renewal come in other day for £670 but got a quote of £550 on go compare :)

Greenlight? Ha ha. They don't even insure Skoda vRS's!!! I phoned them up to change my policy from my TT and was told that people keep crashing vRS's so they will no longer cover them. They wouldn't even swap my policy for the remaining 2 months as they stated that they can't as it would not be fair to other people who want them to insure Skoda's!

I did try AF and they came back at about £530 with a higher excess than Skoda Insurance. Sky were the same as well. Tried the comparison sites but most wont quote for the frankly minor mods.

I promised myself I would get a completely standard car after the TT but I took this in PX and it already had bits done to it.

I wanted to get this remapped but there's no way I'm paying £660 for insurance on a £5k+ Skoda

19 2 years no claims- 1200 admiral.

23 5years NCB with non fault accident! Fully comp in Birmingham, £850 through Adrian flux modified declared. They wanted £1100 to insure with remap though, so now incannot afford to do this as way out of my price range to insure annoyingly! Supposedly Birmingham is not great for car crime either so insurance not great!
