Hoover Attachment

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Trying to get rid of those crumbs (not mine - honest!) that sit between the seat runners and the door. My standard bit on the hoover is a bit too big for it. Any recommendations for something that will do the job? I've had a look on the auction site and can find a pack of universal bits, but wondered if there is anything else?

Thanks

Carl

Standard 'crevice' tool on my Dyson does that job pretty well. But you're quite right, crumbs should never be an issue really - as food consumption should be banned in-car

Which vacuum do you have? I'm sure for whatever you have a thinner attachment could be sought. You just need to make sure the size is correct when you attach it.

I use a small paintbrush to get all the crumbs out of nooks and crannies in the car. Then just hoover them up off the floor. I found some really good Vileda scrubbing brushes in Tesco that are great at getting dust and muck out of the carpeting as well. They have really stiff plastic bristles that get all the ground in stuff loose.

Agree with the dyson comment. Standard long crevice toll on dyson hand held thing works a treat if I hit the power boots button. Can't recommend those hand held dysons enough, if the tools don't reach the air power seem to suck plenty to free the muck.

Can't recall model number right now but can update later if anyone is interested?

crazy as it sounds but I place the hoover towards one end then usea blunt butter knife to move the bits towards end end and it works a treat :)

Its not narrow enough...I use a paintbrush too

I found an old hoover crevice tool in a skip and

flattened it using a heat gun to distort the plastic.

Worth a try if you have a spare.

Don't blame me if the Mrs kills you :D

Alternatively try using some thin clear plastic tube and gaffer

tape it to the end of the crevice tool.

Slightly less permanent than melting it

Works like a keyboard hoover ;)

Lidl occasionally have a very small crevice tool on the end of a short length of hose which you can attach to a standard vacuum cleaner hose. Mine was about £3/4 and works a treat.

Thanks for the answers to the original question everyone.

I went for the paintbrush option - for now anyway!
