jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, how the hell do you snap a big solid piece of steel like that! as you say, it could have been far worse though, perfect time to get some uprated bushes in there now anyway emoticon-0148-yes.gif

That's the point, it's not solid. It's a pressing or two. Would have thought it would have needed a fair old whack at some point in its life to fail though. Also, I don't think it could have totally failed or the wheel WOULD have come off. There's SFA else keeping the wheel standing up.

@ the OP, is the car lowered? What's its history?

What about the other side, it might pay to replace both sides.

Pics, just being nosey

Does the car have poly console bushes by any chance? If the shore rating is too high, you could get stress fractures of the lower arm. I see this on Morris 1000 chassis legs when poly bushes have been fitted to the inner eye bolt for lower wishbone. Rubber may not last as long, but it does absorb shocks a lot better, and is better than a wheel parting company with the car.

hey thanks for the replys, the as never been crashed and its hpi clear, but it is lowered by about 35mm and has poly bushes in the front and the later spec console bushes. It snapped inside the console bush. Got a oem spec arm and fit for 50 quid. So not bad loads better now.i will try and get a picture later of the arm.

So it's the pin or the housing surrounding the pin. Would be good to see a piccie of it.
