Standard VRS Mk 1 BRakes

Featured Replies

Good morning Boys and Girls,

The time has come to replace the brakes on my 53 plate VRS and I've ummed and ahhed about the 312mm upgrade. Anyhow I think I'll stick to standard but will perhaps go for better discs and pads.

I just need to confirm exactly what I need, this is what I think.

Fronts are 288mm x 25mm with a 5x100mm stud pattern.

Rears are 232mm x 9mm with a 5x100mm stud pattern.

Do I need pads with wear indicators and how do I tell if I have a Lucas or whatever the other one is brake callipers?

Cheers guys.

Fabia vRS is a Lucas system, that's why you have to change both the calipers and carriers when you upgrate to 312mm as they are ATE.

Those are the correct sizes and PCD.

The Fabia has no wear indicators on the pads, so if your new pads come with them, you'll need to clip them off.

Thanks Softscoop, that's magic.
