Featured Replies

hi i have a mk1 octavia vrs. it feels to me like its down on power 1st and 2nd feel ok ish but feels like torge is just lacking any ideas if there is a problen? we had it on a computer said torge was as standard and 190bhp thanks

with a post like that i would say it could be anything if thats of any help lol

first what computer told you torque was fine and bhp was 190bhp as standard is 180bhp

what mods has the car got i.e maps etc etc

what doesnt feel right and how has it changed from previous

what conditions does it feel slow

have you had it scanned for fault codes

what boost is it running

as you can see lots of q's to answer when someone post a q with no helpful pointers for us to help.

not a dig just the briskoda crystal ball is not working at the moment!!!!

we had it on vag com it had no fault codes. think it was about 9 psi of boost no mods

Sounds standard then.

Have you fitted a front splitter on it?

sounds like its just standard

was it driving different before?? thus why you think there is a problem???

maybe got used to the power ???

What told you, you had 190BHP? Not vagcom was it? Because, as far as I am aware it can't do that.

You can work out the power from the amount of air the MAF is reading IIRC

Indeed - only a guide but it works well. VCDS can also give you the exact torque the engine is producing (although this becomes inaccurate for remapped cars), and from there you can calculate the bhp using engine speed.

Car does seem to run fine, 0.65-0.7 bar of boost (was myself who ran the logs). Doesn't really 'feel' slow to me (I have/have driven quick cars), but an extra slug of torque would really help to make it feel quicker.
