Will these 2003 Audi A4 wheels fit my 2009 vRS?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm planning on getting together a spare set of wheels with winter tyres on before the rush, and have seen a set of 16" alloys off a 2003 Audi A4. These are 8.5J width and reading the winter tyres thread I only see 6J or 6.5J mentioned, so will these be suitable? (They're currently shod with 205/55/R16s).

Cheers,

Bob.

8.5J for a 16" OEM Audi rim doesn't sound right to me - could it be a misprint? If 205/55/16s were fitted to a 8.5J rim they would be fairly stretched. Have a look on www.willtheyfit.com, pop in the values for a 205/55/16s on a 6.5J and an 8.5J rim and you'll see what I mean. You could also do with finding out the offset of the wheels, and again using the willtheyfit site you can compare them to your orignal wheels/tyres.

I just picked them up - they are 6.5J - the guy obviously couldn't read. Four 5 spoke Audi alloys in very good condition, very similar to what my sister has on her Elegance so won't look too bad on my vRS, and two of them have virtually new tyres on! Won them off Fleabay for only 90 quid so I'm well chuffed. Now I just have to hunt down the best deal on the winter rubber...

Not so pleased any more, just thought I'd pop one of the wheels on to check look and fit and they don't bloody fit. I checked this forum and other websites before buying them to check that the PCD of a 2003 Audi A4 from which they came would be the same as my car (112mm) but it seems these wheels have a PCD of around 100mm, so no good for me. They'll be back on eBay shortly so back to square one.

If they're 5x100 they have NOT come off an A4. The seller is at it. If you can be bothered you could pursue it via eBay/PayPal complaint. If the seller has lied about what car they came off it makes you wonder how he came by them in the first place... If you decide to sell them yourself on eBay don't forget all the fees - listing fee (depending on starting price and any reserve you set) and 10% of the selling price goes as final value fee, and then there are the PayPal fees

Wasn't 2003 the year that the Audi A3 changed over from the old Golf IV chassis to the new Golf V chassis ? So isn't it possible that these are from the old shape A3 and hence the PCD difference ?

Exactly what I'd do.

We're talking about an A4 here, not an A3....

A4s have always used a 5x112 PCD, hence why the seller's incorrectly sold these.
