Octavia VRS to Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

I've not been on here for a while , mainly due to work and other things but my 09 Octavia VRS is coming up to be replaced,

Having decided to down size the car as i mainly use it for going to work, I have been looking around at several different cars Mainly VAG and Fiat.

First went into Local VW dealer in Reading and had a look at several different cars including Golf match and a second hand VW Scirocco, I test drove the Scirocco which had a 1.4 TSI 122bhp engine and it was very good, but overall i felt very let down by the Sales team which i had a feeling of We are very important and we will sell you what we feel you want!! ended up with them giving me horrendous finance quotes and not even considering selling me a new car. Even said we will cal you tomorrow after you spoken to the wife, did i get a call, did i heck....! any way they lost my business, straight after leaving i went with my dad who was also looking for a new car to Park view Skoda also in Reading. after having a look around a Rally green Fabia VRS caught my eye, After speaking to the Salesman who i might add was excellent even suggested that he had to get me in a test drive, He got the brand new car out of the show room with only 26 miles on the clock and handed me the keys!!

First impressions on the car were, :o:o :o :o , I loved the car. A lot more than the Scirocco which felt very bland for the money they were asking!!

After taking down a few details, the following day i had a call from the finance manager , the got some excellent finance details, which beat VW hands down as Skoda actually appeared to listen to what i wanted, they even beat the part ex price, but i suspect that VW did not disclose the exact value they got so they could make some more money!!

I have been in again today and taken the Wife so she could have a drive and she loved it as well!

We now have an Order for a Rally green Fabia VRS, with Black chrome alloys , Climate control , Cruise control , Rear electric windows, Bluetooth, MFSW , Sat Nav , Arm rest . Will also get 5% VAT , 3yrs free servicing, Autoglym protection and metal mate as well! I have also made money on my Octavia so all round a very good deal!! The only down side is the sales man said that it was about 18wks for delivery.

I can't wait, going to be like an excited child for a long time...!!!

Nice one on the order  they are very good cars i love my but the delivery time are not so good my car was16 weeks from order to delivery and i was very lucky have a look at the top of the forum

nice one, dealer experiance seemed good, the wait is a out off for some people, as long as they stick to the partx price offered for the octy! ;) you will enjouy the car, I've done 13,00 miles now, and I am loving it...it seems to get better every time I drive it!

Them sticking to the part Ex price was one thing i was not sure about but they said that they would stick to it! guess its an incentive to get the car built quicker so they lose less money! but anyway i have the part ex price in writing so they can't change it and they said they would not change it. Dealer experience was very good! my dads even thinking of buying a new car from them!!

i had the 2.0T vRS octavia and to be frank i miss it

Good job on the deal and welcome. Keep us posted on things, hopefully your order will come in early.

All the best

I do like my Octavia VRS, it was a really good buy at the time as it had nearly £6k off the list price! but i have had it for over 2 Yrs and its now getting expensive to run. As a family car i don't really use it to its full capacitiy and its more for travelling to work and back so a small car will be better for me. I have also previously had a Mk1 Fabia VRS which was chipped and that was very good fun to drive and the new one was when i had my test drive.
