The brands owned by VW are:

Seat and Skoda were bought in the 90's as was Bugatti (not they they've produced a car yet). Bently was bought around 2000.

And Audi previously owned some other marques which presumably now belong to VAG, such as Horch, NSU, DKW, Auto Union... Wasn't there talk at some time recently that they'd revive the Horch name to rival Maybach?

I seem to remeber a big argy bargy between VW and BMW over the Rolls Royce / Bently break up. Didn't VW try to buy both companies, but BMW bought the Rolls Royce name and rights to use the Spirit of ecstacy? Thus forcing VW to sell them the RR company........Or something.
