I love the interweb for the money it can save you

I was about to spend £500 on a towbar and electrics then happen to stumble upon the pack offers.

Adventure

Expedition

Sports

Trekking

Expedition please as it gives me the detatchable towbar with 13-pin elecs. and has all the rubber bits thrown in for free, front and rear mudflaps, rubber floor mats and the boot mat.

All for £487

I'd like see a dealer that even knows about these let alone honour them!

They had heard about it.

I'm waiting for the reply after my phone conversation this morning. Fingers crossed I'll be better off going for the pack.

That price'll be + fitting

Call it a grand, then!

Hence very few people going for the packs since the £20 or so they are cheaper than buying all that individually just gets swallowed into the dealers mark-up for fitting.

£250 fitting it turns out, so I'll go back to option 1 and have the fitted towbar for £500 and buy the other bits with 10% off for more than three items in my basket.

At least they went to the trouble to find out about it for me ;)

A lot of European countries won't allow you to fit a towbar because it has to form part of the vehicle's CoC or the paperwork gets very expensive.

So I can understand why they have to offer it as a factory fit item elsewhere (for around 400 quid all-in by the way), it just seems odd that they don't offer such a thing in the UK.

There is money to be made by the dealers and most importantly a huge chance for SUK to spread confusion. I can see why they jumped at the chance to not offer something so sensible in the UK.

Don't many dealers outsource specialist things like towbar fitting? (Of course they still take some "margin" from the deal!)
