3 years. It is only the anti corrosion that is 10. If there is no corrosion you have no hope. I had corrosion on the wheel arches and it took 18 months of fighting to get new wings after many failed repairs (VW Bora).

As JRW said, 3 years for paint defects or 10/12 for corrosion.

How long have you had the car? (not how old is it ) Depending on the nature of the paintwork fault, there may be a possible claim under the Sales of Goods Act (which will probably involve at least threatening small claims court), as it may have failed to remain of satisfactory quality for a reasonable period of time. If you have RAC/AA cover, it should include legal assistance (operated as a call-back from a solicitor) - if you explain to them the nature of the defect, etc, they should be able to tell you if you have a hope or not. My relatives used it when they had a defect on their 5 year old Octavia a few months after purchase, and they thought the paintwork should be good for 10+ years - end result was the panel was stripped & resprayed FoC.

I have had it for 3 years, and done 120K of the 168K now showing and the paint has bubbled up and come off, leaving rust patches
