Picked up a private reg a while ago and I have the deeds for that, but what else do I need to get the plates changed over?

I have got my new cars V5s, but it says Not proof of ownership etc.

Do I wait for the V5 to come through the post or what? Confused with all of this tbh!

The V5 has never been proof of ownership.

Went down to the DVLA and, well it was much simpler than I thought.

V5c & the private reg doc.... Sign your name, cars current regie, expiry date of tax and thats it.

Plates can go on that date but you need to inform your insurance company.
