Taking my 3/2010 L&K to france and spain next month. The handbook says i can alter the headlights thru the maxidot so go into lights and vision,travel mode and click. Faulty bulb light comes on to indicate adjustmernt but the headlights don't switch. any ideas please. Is there a software update ?

All this setting does is flatten the beam which is difficult to see unless you are facing a wall at night...

Aye - it definitely works.

Did the same for a recent trip over to France.

Once you're driving at night you notice there is no "kick up" to the left and the beam is totally flat.

when you select "travel mode" the light warning on the dash flashes (i guess this is while it's adjusting itself) for a few seconds then stops.

for me this works fine, been to france twice this year and used it both times without issue.

As above, unless you have maxidot it's a trip to dealer to have touring mode enabled. And on your return it's back to dealer to have it disabled. I bet dealer who sold you the car didn't mention that.

is does have maxidot, but never seen the option on it. will have another look.

Maxidot

Lights > Vision > Travel Mode
