mkII vRS puncture

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Seem to remember the dealer saying the low profile tryes on the vRS couldn't be fixed and need to be replaced in the event of a puncture - Is this true. Car has only done 500 miles and has a screw right in the centre of the tread.

Cheers

I would take it to a tyre fitter and ask them they will soon tell you!! depends on the size of the screw and how much damage it has caused.

indeed, they can be repaired, but not if the puncture is near the sidewall, needs to be about ceter 3/4 of the tread to be repairable (I think!)

Apparently if its in the middle part of the tyre it should be able to fixed, outside of that it cant the RAC man said..

My puncture was in the side wall, 50 miles or so on the car lol

Thansk for the replies guys

I just remember the dealer saying that as it was a low pro tyre, no punctures could be fixed but I thought as much

Cheers

Depends if you have driven on it. If you have driven on it flat, it will be written off due to the sidewalls being compromised.

I've got run flat tyres on the BM and they can't be repaired.

Maybe you got run flat and low profile mixed up?

My poor montes tyre :(! He's had a tough life so far!
