Best Door Speakers

Featured Replies

As title, what are the best aftermarket speakers to get for the fabia?

I've heard you can only fit real slim ones due to clearance on the window regulator?

And is anyone running under-seat subwoofers?

A lot of people mentioned the Alpine SXE-1750s which are quite cheap. However opinions seem quite varied. Some state they definitely sound far better than the standard speakers. However, most state they are not that good or lack bass. (I have a pair of these but not yet got around to fitting).

If you're not after amping them, the Pioneer TS-A171CI's might be one of the best choices. Here's a review of them here http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/index.php/index.html/_/reviews/speakers/pioneer-ts-a171ci-component-speakers-review-r944

Great response, cheers mate!

You can fit speaker adapters to the car, they are plastic collars that give a bit more depth to fit the new speakers into. I Would highly recomend The Alpine Type R conponents, either amped seperately to from the std headunit - just remember to order the right size tweeters to replace the std ones. these can also be fitted into the rear doors too! Run that off a 4 channel amp and a sub/Amp in the boot and you laughing!

I have been looking at the Alpine Type R speakers and some infinity components also. I haven't really looked at the Pioneers but the reviews are good. I intend to measure after work but seen as you have already done it by the sounds of it, what size tweeters are required and do the Alpines clip in where the old tweeters go or do you need some glue magic to install them? Also, which model Type R's are actually shallow enough to fit in the front doors? Most of the components seem to be over the 60mm threshold?

are front and rear speakers all 6.5" and what size are tweeters?

Ive got Vibe Space 6 3d's, Sound good but cost around £150 as they are 3-way componets. Talkaudio.com gave them a good review

only problem is they are super tight, so if you cant be bothered messing around trying to fit them just get some shallow speakers i.e vibe liteair 6 which are good as well.

Keep it BRITISH! B)
