Light Steering

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if the steering on my Monte Carlo can be made firmer via the diagnostic port as I find it to light and feel it spoils an otherwise great car.

I was reading a review on a car website that also said the steering was to light, but at the bottom of the article someone had left a comment about the Fabia's steering being all

electrical and not part hydraulic and it could be changed via the diagnostic port and apparently this is well known on the Skoda forums.

If this is true has anyone had it done and does it make a great improvement, also can Skoda do it and is it very expensive.

P.S I am loving this little Monte and it has made the move from my Octavia a pleasant one.

I'm sure the Mk1's steering weight could be adjusted, so it stands to reason that the Mk2's can be as well. Someone with experience of it should chime in soon :)

Thanks Mike sounds like it might be possible.

My wife's Ford Focus can be adjusted by the driver using the dashboard computer, you can change the

steering feel from comfort to normal to sport setting.

I have read that it can be adjusted via one of the modules in vagcom

I haven't found that module yet, is there anyone who know which one it is?

Should be the steering assist module - 44?? Not sure if its in the long coding, or the adaption function though.
