DPF issue Octavia 2.0 TDI VRS / 33K / 2009

Featured Replies

Hi

I have exactly the same issue as described in here http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/172798-dpf-forced-regen-no-warning-light/page__gopid__2482271#entry2482271

I'd never seen any DPF light on until today however along with DPF light, Glow Plug System and Control system for exhaust lights went on as well.

I drove immediately to Skoda garage ( limp mode ) asking to check the fault and I was told that due to my driving style and not allowing DPF reg., filter got damaged and replacement is required ( roughly 2000E… ). Unfortunately car is out of warranty ( expired in March 11), but was told that even if car was still under, warranty wouldn't cover DPF replacement...This is just ridiculous as I was never pre-warned that DPF regeneration is required as light has never come on.

I would appreciate if someone confirmed whether it's possible to check how often ( or if ever ) DPF light was on in the past. Any other ideas would be much appreciated! All I want is to prove to Skoda that I’m bloody telling the truth .

I wrote complaint to Skoda Customer Service, if they wont acknowledge manufacturer fault, I think I'll raise matter with relevant authorities as I’m not willing to pay 2000E for something that was not my fault. I wonder if anyone in Ireland has had the same issue and wondered to file a lawsuit?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I only really do short trips in my new one and am having someone turn it over for me and move it around car park at mo as I broke my leg in Kerry and cant touch it.... Stupid that short trips could potentially damage a car if they told you car isn't designed for short trips like in other thread at least you should ask where they published this and why you were not told when buying it!

Is DPF removal and mapping it out an option you'd consider might be a lot cheaper solution if its possible lots of info on the matter on here seems to be the done thing first sign of DPF issues loose it!

Hope it all works out for you €2K is a joke this soon out of warranty!

Dev, did they scan it?

i had this happen to me as described but it was the pressure sensor not the dpf, sounds like our cars are similar age too mine is a March 09 too

i would say get it scanned and see if thats the issue

they did scan it and confirmed regeneration is not possible and sensor is ok but, that's what I managed to get from their report:

Fault in Mass Air Flow ( MAF ) sensor -G70 ?

Current soot load ( calculated ): 30,6 g

Current soot load ( measured ): 46,2 g

Caution

Regeneration must not be performed! RISK OF FIRE!

-Replace the particulate filter ( see Repair Manual )

-After replacing perform the function Adapt adaptation values for the particulate filter ( test plan)

End of test!

Hmmm i reckon get a second opinion, and failing that think about getting the dpf mapped out talk to Joe Power on Malahide road

Strip out the guts of the DPF and bring it to Joe Power.

seem like the exhaust pressure sensor is faulty ( 03G906051A ~ 70E ) and I was advised to replace it. Apparently it's a common issue with all cars from VW group...

I hope it will fix the issue. Will give you update once done.

*** Gents, Many thanks for your help so far! ***

actually I'm a bit confused as to what to order. I was told by Joe Power to order 1K0131552F ( it suppose to include pressure sensor + 2xhoses and metal arm ) or should I go for pressure sensor only - that is 03G906051A ?

Problem resolved!!!

Thanks to Joe Power, replacement of exhaust pressure sensor ( 1K0131552F ) resolved the issue.

Folks, many thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Happy bunny again... :p

Glad you got sorted emoticon-0148-yes.gif

09 vRS 125TDI 6DGS here with 35,000kms on it.

I have owned it since 9000kms for the last 15 months and have never seen the DPF light on!

Has me a little concerned.

Driving for me is a mix of city and open country road work!

cheers

I would advise you to check exhaust pressure sensor ( part number 03G906051A - superceeded by the newer revised part number 076906051A ) as it's causing a lot of troubles...

and just one more hint for all those who wonder why fuel consumption on idle is sometimes increased... answer is simple, DPF regeneration initiated by ECU ! if you notice it, just go for a spin for couple of minutes to make sure dpf is regenerated properly ;)

Hi, my octavia vrs ltd edition has just been taken to the garage for the same , a failed exhaust sensor a few months ago , now the DPF filter light is on and won't regenerate by driving , rather annoyed to say the least , I'm hoping its another exhaust sensor or it will be going to have it removed without a doubt ! Going off sodas fast .

Yip my ltd ed is in Skoda at the moment. I had the codes read which came back to the pressure sensor. Hopefully have it back soon as only had it two days :(

Just picked mine back up. Suk sent some new values for them to try and it's worked. So forced regen and new dpf pressure sensor. Only down side is took them five days to sort out.
