Felicia Pickup queries (lowering and interior)

Featured Replies

ok im sure these questions have been asked on here numerous times before but...

basically just bought a felicia pickup and although ive seen -35mm lowering springs available on ebay i would ideally like to go lower. so was wondering, is there any other cars that use the same springs or coilovers as the pickup?

also, do the front seats from any other cars bolt straight into the pickup?

its a year 2000 if that matters.

thanks in advance.

hi mate, you gotta make your own coilovers if you want major low, theres a guy on here whos made some, otherwise mk4 golf lowering springs on the rear and either felicia lowering springs up front or ive seen a guy running mk5 fiesta springs on front too.

regarding the seats, you can get any to fit just weld them onto the original subframes, i have mg zr half leathers in mine

thanks for the reply bud.

ok so if i get a set of say 60mm golf springs will there be any complications with the bed of the truck being so low?

and for the front your saying the springs from a felicia hatcback or estate etc will fit in there?

also, just to be nosey. have you got a pic of your pickup?

You might have to modify the lever that controls the rear brake bias valve if you run it very low... Also the exhaust will probably knock on the rear axle so you may need tougher exhaust rubbers

sorry about the stupid questions but can you link me to a tougher exhaust rubber and have you had experience modifying the lever?

cheers for all the help tho!

I made mine a side exit exhaust, saved a lot of hassle..lol

Didnt need to adjust my bias valve iirc, didnt ever lock the back up if unloaded.

that yellow one is unreal!! very impressive. really like the RH cups, are they 16's?

what suspension setup are you using there? also have you got a picture of underneath so i can see your exhaust?

They were 15s with 195/50 15 tyres

Suspension wise I fitted a Rayvern Hydraulic air kit on it, adjustable back and front.

well the pickup i bought has seriously low miles and i got it very cheap so air could be a definite possibility, have a few battlescars on the body work i would like to sort out first.

cheers for the pictures and im sure i will have loads more questions in the coming months so bare with me!

Iiirc the fun trucks all have the pressure sensitive bias valve on the rear axle so you wouldnt need to adjust it.

The normal big standard poverty spec pickups like mine have the load sensitive type.

@ ronygti, there is a thread on lowering pickups pinned at the top of the felicia section

yeh i had a quick read over that, ive never attempted to lower a car on my own but with that guide maybe i will.

have you got a picture of your pickup so i can get an idea of the drop you achieved with that setup?

is your bed cover thing homemade or where did you get it?

Yes thats nimbus grey, the tonneua cover came from a company called monsoon 4x4 in eastbourne.. They have a website and you can order them online too. It was about £100 if I recall

yeh man, i was half asleep when i posted that and realised straight away but the edit button was too much work.

they have a set up for a mk2 caddy, would that be a direct fit by any chance??

edit- here it is http://www.justcaddys.com/complete_mk2_caddy_lowering_kit.html

Edited by RonyGTi

No thats a kit for the caddy van and inca van which are both based on the 6k Ibiza. I have seen a few of the correct spring kits listed on eBay for arn £100 in the past, I promise you you won't even find a lowering kit for a standard felicia let alone for a pickup, they just don't exist!! It's springs only or nothing I'm afraid, unless you can get some of the hp sporting coil overs from cz or want to spend a fortune on gaz or bilstein custom made ones

^^ yeah his name is luke, he's a member on here too.. i helped him out with a few parts for his bike carbed 16v engine transplant in his, although i dont think he owns that ute any more... i should imagine they are mk5 escort coils on there modified to suit

ahh sweet, i might look into getting some of them, i picked up some standard mk1 focus struts from the scrappy a while ago to see if they would fit but the top mounts just would work :S

Is there any chance toy can confirm which coil overs they were and what he had to do?

I'd be more than grateful if you could and would send you both some beer money for your trouble - I need to get my pickup on the floor but I can't justify air on a parts runner!!

My number is 07545 893975

Appreciate it dude
