VRS review from Mini Owner

Featured Replies

I don't know if this has already been posted but it's an interesting review of the Fabia VRS on the Mini forum.

It got me thinking, I have seen a lot of reviews of Skoda's on other manufactures forums and it seems to me that

they seem very interested in what Skoda cars are like and are always very complementary about them.

Does this say something about their happiness with their cars as I don't think I have seen any topics or long

reviews on other makes of car on this forum, perhaps it's just because we are "happy drivers"

Check out the review and sorry if it has been seen before.

Good review and some of the comments were positive from other posters. Some though still have their blinkers on when it comes to Skoda. I laughed when someone said they'd rather a Mini Countryman instead of a Yeti.

In a way I think it may be a bad thing. At other moment Skoda is our little secret and I like it like that. Although I am fed up explaining to the uneducated masses that a Skoda equivalent is better all round than a bog standard Audi that costs twice as much.

Sshsh ...I wont tell if you dont! :D

Yep, there is truth in that. People are realising it though(me included) as most of the Car Review Mags have been extolling Skoda Virtue for quite some time.

Couldnt persuade my brother in law though....

Yeti beats it hands down (In my opinion and from the many Head to Head reviews) but cant help thinking peoples perception negates going the way of Skoda.

SUCH A HORRIBLE CAR!!!! That countryman isn't the best is it =/

Forgot to mention the cost of the Ugly Mobile (Countryman Cooper Sd) .......wait for it.......ok he had a few extra's like black wheels, stripe on bonnet, chrome bits etc...

£26300!

That's rediculous and what an ugly car too. Think of all the cars he could have bought instead for the money.

Great little review.

I sort of like the countryman, although certainly not the price !

Mine Coupe is coming next year, that looks nice in pictures.

Now as a mini owner and a skoda owner I get on both counts. Mini for being a girls car and Skoda for being a Skoda. In truth it was the shear brilliance of our Fabia estate that made me realise I had no need for a Passat Estate anymore and could get a much more economical car for my commute. One month in and no regrets at all.

Your BIL got done by the way. Almost every Mini dealer I visited tried to offload a countryman on to us. Got offered one specd up to about 26k for 19k, it was an ex demo with less than 2k. There is no way you would get a Yeti so easily!

@ve had the cooper s clubman and now have the vRS. Cooper s is much better to drive which imo is more important than all else. Mines much quicker than a jcw though now its mapped tough

I actually spend time trying to find threads about Skoda on other car forums just to see people opinions. There are some truly hilarious ones, there is a great one somewhere on a Landrover forum regarding the Yeti none of the posters on there seems to get the idea that the Yeti was never designed to compete with a Defender offroad. But I read a couple of BMW forums recently about the Octavia Scout and the Yeti 4x4 and both where very complimentary, stumbled onto a bit of a chavvy French car forum to their credit they all seemed to have a better grasp of the English language than the Landrover fanboys and they all seemed to like the MKI Octavia vRS and both the Fabia MKI and MKII vRS, I should find that thread as a young guy had a 206GTi of some description and changed to a MKII Fabia vRS and was raving about it, the other posters seemed to agree.
