Vrs timing belt interval

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just purchased a 54 plate black magic Fabia Vrs. I am wondering if I need to get the cambelt changed. It was changed at 80k and is now on 130k. According to my handbook the intervals are 80k yet after searching the forum I see some change at 40k and some at 60k etc. Is there an official definitive answer for this please?

It was revised after release to 60,000

my car only done 17k and had mine changed on saturday....every 60k or ev 4yrs whicheva soonest..B)

Cambelts (and tensioners) for the Fabia should be changed every 60k miles or 4 years, whichever comes first. At the same time it is advisable, but not essential, that the water pump is changed at the same time, as they are known to break.

By The Way, Welcome to Briskoda. :hi:

Recent advice seems to have changed to 4 years or 75,000 miles - so mine was done at 29,000... So end of next year for the OP's assuming the change was at 4 years, albeit late in mileage terms.
