Headunit replacement

Featured Replies

Hi. I want to install my single DIN Alpine headunit into the space where the symphony headunit is. I went to my local Skoda dealer to ask about getting the kit and blanking plate needed to install this, but they had know idea what part number it is or whether they could get hold of what I need. Does anyone have any information about where to get hold of this or a part number? Thanks.

The part no for the trim that goes above the headunit is 6Y0 857 231 B41

I'd just get the ISO adapter from ebay. You may find that you don't actually need it if your new one has bullet connectors to swap the permanent and ignition 12v over.

You'll also probably need an aerial booster as well.

Shouldn't cost more than £15 for all of the bits.

thanks for your help! I understand that part number is just for the trim surround. Would I also need a single DIN adaptor kit to fix my Alpine headunit into the space where the Symphony unit is?

The alpine should come with the cage to fit it in place.

Once you've fitted the necessary wiring adapters (if needed at all), then it's just a case of pushing it into the cage then clipping on the trim above to hide the gap.
