Clunk and vibration

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

At the weekend I had my console and arb bushes replaced for the cupra and Powerflex equivalent. Sadly this didn't solve my front left knock which I experience on speed bumps which made me certain it's suspension related, saying that it could still be a top mount issue as the ball joints looked okay. Saying that over the recent months I occasionally get a slight vibration through the throttle pedal when revving when the car is stationary, aswel as this I also get a slight vibration at around 1000rpm when in gear for example driving off changing to second and it occurs, only very light throttle being used. The vibrations only occur occasionally the throttle pedal happens maybe once every week but the vibration at lows revs is more frequent.

Now I'm pretty confident it's not my DMV as it doesn't shudder when going hard, not slip or anything I'm always careful when booting at what revs etc. Saying that I did put the foot down just to see and no issues all seems wel so I'm starting to suspect possibly an engine mount? Could that be a cause of these symptoms, so basically which mounts are there and is there anyway I can check them?

Sorry for the long winded post but it's really getting me down ATM to the point were I feel like getting rid of her,

All comments welcome guys thankyou

Its a slight hum not juddering tho? And will do it one second then stop the next, also no problems or noises when accelerating under load I only notice it at idle so I think/hope something is just vibrating somewhere. If it was flywheel it would do it all the time surely?

Maybe worth checking your air box is properly seated in the rear grommet thing? I remember after getting my gearbox engine mount changed, the air box wasn't reattached on the rear and was flapping around and making all sorts of noise.
