Quick Warranty Question

Featured Replies

Hi all, i've got an 02 plate Octavia estate and the boot has started to rust under the rear window. There are no signs of damage ie chipped paint or previous bodywork repairs so was just wondering if anyone can tell me if how long the anti-corrosion warranty was on a Skoda of that age ?

Thanks and Regards Dave

also would like to know this as there is a small scab on my sill

iirc, it is a 7 year warranty. However you could visit your dealer and try and blag it.... Mine took pictures and sent them to SUK before they approved the work (in their own bodyshop - and then they did a cr@p job - twice :'( )

i thought it was a 10 year warranty on corrosion and 3 on paint......

I did do warranty @ 2 Skoda dealerships , so may be worth going to see one

You would be better going to see one with a body shop though

It is hard with paint as the corrosion has to be from the inside out (IIRC)

With no signs of stone chips either

Hope that helps?

Sarah

It's quite common on the estate which I think is caused by relative movement between the glass and the tailgate which erodes the paint. The problem is that the corrosion starts on the exterior surface and can't be classed as perforation from the inside out. I think that it's an anti perforation warranty, rather than a corrosion warranty.

I think that I may have attended the same warranty course at MK as you Sarah.

I know with ford and mazda you have to get an yearly paint inspection els the warranty will be void.
