Yes i know new car lose money as soon as it leave dealer, I enter my 4 week old Octavia 1.2 se DSG with 1000miles and it return a valuatin of £8200, how many people sell to those day light robbery people

It's been mentioned on here a few times that how much they rob you for the car. It should be renamed Webuyanycarforless. com

You don't have to take them up on their offer :)

To be fair, it will depend on what they think the market will be for your car, plus obviously a margin for their services, and the fact you avoid any hassle or delay in shifting the car yourself.

I've seen rip-off values for them, relatively speaking - I've also seen sensible values for vehicles, which people have taken and been happy with the result. Horses for courses....

I'm always surprised when anyone is surprised by the prices they offer. WBAC is generally a last resort to shift your car easily and relatively hassle-free, they're hardly likely to offer you a good price, and as Wardy says, it's not like you're forced to use them.

The other side of it is that a work colleague of mine got £7 more for their Rav 4 than they bought it for 18 months earlier.

I agree that the valuation is close to daylight robbery.

However, ff you have, let's say a Ford Mondeo, that could sell for £800 on autotrader, and Webuyanycar offers £500, you are only stand to lose out £300, but it saves you time, advertising fee, insurance, and the predictable haggling.

I think Webuyanycar are really more suitable for older cars where the margin is much smaller in terms of monetary terms, not % terms.

You'da thought, but it seems not. My Polo GTi (2000), excellent mechanically and visually (from a distance!), FSH, no faults or anything, £600. Easily worth at least 3, or 4 times that last time I looked.

My RX-8 - £2k! :oemoticon-0106-crying.gif

My friend sold his TT to we buy any car for a fair price, 2 weeks later I watched it roll through a BCA auction for £400 less than they paid for it.

Excellent. Good to hear they don't win out of every deal they do then! :D
