Invisible Reverse Sensor(s)?

Featured Replies

Hello,

The previous owner never mentioned there was reverse sensors on my vRS.

They're definitely not OEM.No four sensors visible on the rear bumper.

I looked underneath today and couldn't see any sort of sensor(s)???

Anyone on here with something similar?

Banditbarron,perhaps?

It's quite accurate,though.

Just audible beeps and no visible display.

I'm puzzled how this reverse sensor system works...

There is a reverse sensor kit you can buy that's an adhesive strip that sticks on the inside of the bumper.

Thanks for the quick reply,Rob!

You're most probably correct about this.

It works very well, though. For the time being, anyway.

No doubt the adhesive strip would become un-stuck one day...

I got sensors on mine, just wires that go into the boot from the bumper, theres a box od tricks behind the carpet by the cd changer... theres also a speaker/buzzer thing on the pillar behind the read nearside passenger that flashes and beeps.... not sure if you`ll have one on yours.

They're pretty good apparently but have been know to pick up heavy rain as an obstacle!

I haven't been out in it in heavy rain yet.

I did notice one of the torque screws in the boot sill panel was a little loose...

The beep goes beep,beeep,beeeep,dooooo....no visual alert lights just the beeps.

I fitted this set to SWMBO's Golf a couple of years ago - never again!

They work perfectly in the dry but when the car is wet (or has been washed AND then dried) they have a mind of their own, they are due to be replaced with 'proper' sensors when I get the time to fit them.
