Scottish newb with Octy vRS

Featured Replies

Hi peeps, been lurking on these forums for a while while I decided what to get as a company car, and surprise surprise the Octavia RS came out trumps :D

Picked it up yesterday on an '05 plate, it's Black Magic Pearl, has 90 miles on the clock, and is filthy already :thumbdwn: Bloody weather...

My current "own" car is a Honda Accord Type-R, which is currently in the process of being written off by the insurance company (snow+articulated lorry=ouch) but will more than likely be replaced by another exactly the same. The ATR is a great car, but it's nice to have the wadge of torque the Octy provides!

Also have a Peugeot 306 XSi 16V which the company car is replacing (will trade it in against another ATR) and a Suzuki SV650S for when the weather s a tad nicer...

Hope to see some of you around.

Ron

Whereabouts are you, Ron? I'm in Stirling. Similar Octy - just as dirty :thumbdwn:

In East side of Edinburgh just now, but used to live a couple of miles outside Stirling so quite familiar with the roads out there... A811 out to Loch Lomond, Kippen to Lennoxtown road, A84 up by Callander - all classics  Can't wait till I get the engine run-in properly to have a play out there, might even try this weekend as I am planning a run up the A82 to Fort William and then cross country to get back down south. Hopefully that'll get it past the 500 mile mark so I can give it the beans a tad more!

I finished running in my Octy on these roads :D:D:D

Welcome to Briskoda, Ron. It would be nice in due course to have your views on the merits of the vRS versus the Type R. :)
