Will an aftermarket downpipe for a VW Golf mkV fit a pre-facelift RS?

Featured Replies

Need some help guys. Does anyone here know if any downpipe from miltek, apr, eurojet etc etc etc for a vw golf mkV 2.0TFSI would be a direct install in a prefacelift Octavia RS with the same 2.0TFSI engine as the golf? Reason I ask is because APR's part numbers are the same for all their exhaust systems such as downpipe to catback to turbo back for both vehicles whereas, for Milltek, I've been advised previously that the catback systems are different as they have differing part numbers. Now, I understand that could be different for say the catback system due to the larger size of our octavia compared to the golf but wouldn't the downpipe be the same? I really want to get the eurojet downpipe that is for the mkV gti but cannot go ahead yet until I know that it fits fine. ANother reason why I ask is becasue the Milltek site doesn't seem to list part number for their systems whereas APR does.

Want to know if a eurojet downpipe for a mkV gti will fit my RS.

Your experience and observations would be much appreciated.

As far as I am aware the standard downpipe is the same on both vehicles so I cannot see why an aftermarket downpipe would be any different.

Thanks mate. I wouldn't think there should be any difference but wanted to get someone else's thoughts and experiences.

there not the same. The GTI downpipe is much longer than the VRS 2.0T. Hence a lot of downpipes i.e. miltek pipewerx come in 2 sections.

I almost bought i gti downpipe but i was told it would need to be cut down.

Best option was a brand new pipewerx downpipe decat at £300 delivered and this fits directly on to standard exhaust!

I emailed awesome-gti.co.uk and they said the downpipe should fit and the only difference would be for the catback kit since the octavia is a longer car. Sure hope it fits. Then again, if the vRS one is shorter than the mkV gti one, then why does APR have the exact same part numbers for both vehicles? Thats my dilemma.

The apr maybe adapted to fit both along with awesome. It might be vrs size system with an extra bit of pipe to also fit gti. Look on the net at the length difference between the two.

You may also need a reducer if it doesn't come with one. 3" to 2.25".
