Fitting Recaro Seats to a Yeti

Featured Replies

Has anybody ever fitted Recaro seats to their Yeti!

Recaro don't have the details of the seat base that is needed so can't advise as to what seats would fit.

Is the seat base the same as any other Skoda? They seem to know the sizes of the other cars in the Skoda range.

Any help gratefully received.

Can I ask why? :wonder:

I know it's a long shot, but I'm guessing he wants to fit Recaro seats B)

Very amusing guys, I find the side support/bolsters on the existing seats pretty poor so was wondering about upgrading them to something a bit more snug!

Well the Yeti is based on the MK5 Golf chassis, so it may be the same as them, (which the MKII Octavia and MKII Superb are also based upon) so if you can give me measurements from the bolt centres (both side to side and front to rear) then I will be able to check SWMBO's MK5 Golf and my Superb.

Yeti-RS attempted to fit recaros some time ago.

He'll probably be along soon when he next visits from Tapei.

Just something to remember, if you're upgrading to Recaro seats, you may lose the heated seats option you have with the standard yeti seats if they were fitted to your model from new. emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Are you prepared to give up the heated seat option???

Depends on the Recaro's, they are available heated, cooled, full electric adjustment (including lumbar support etc) and with airbags fitted... the only limit is your credit card :giggle:

Hi,

the floorpan is Golf V derived, however the floor mounting points at the front are Yeti specific. The seat base and rail system are a combination of Audi Q5 and Tiguan part numbers. seat backrest is either Yeti, Superb II or Tiguan, depending on date of manufacture and if you have lumber but the lumber system is Tiguan again.

The following part numbers are for the seat frame with manual height adjustment.

8R0 881 105 C LH

8R0 881 106 C RH

As a side note noticed some more cost cutting creeping in for MY 12, as they have introduced a Seat seat frame with no height adjustment into the parts system.

You could try switching/converting your seats to the 'sport' seat used in, IIRC, the Ambition model in Europe.

I did this in my wife's Roomster by using the bolsters and fabric covers from the Fabia Sport seats; the base and backrest frames were the same parts.

I'm therefore thinking that you just need to know the part numbers for the cushion/bolsters and the fabric for the 'sport' seat from the Ambition and off you go.

I stand corrected Gizmo, sorry.

Never realised they were that advanced.

Recaro makes sets for a lot of the European car factories, like Land Rover, Opel, Aston Martin, BMW and so on.

Heva a look here:

I need to borrow your knowledge in regards to my 2011 1.2tsi.

My front brake system uses the cheapo brazilian 1.6 petrol setup and not the same setup as nearly every other VAG car?

I tried to fit some porsche brakes only to have the fitter take a quick glance at my under carriage and shake his head mentioning the above.

Anyway he could be wrong..... i hope
