While having to squeeze up against the verge to avoid an oncoming car mostly on my side of the road and hitting a rock that was sticking out all my hard earned OT from this week has just gone..... :swear:

Feel for you mate ...same thing happened a few years ago to me.........Pxxxxs like that should be banned from the roads.

If you got the Reg, contact the police

Yup, do it. Chances are anpr network will help prove they were there if several possibles for car and Reg combo.

Will see about getting onto them then, you never know.

Ouch! Sorry for you mate.

:(

Agree with the others, if you know the make, model and colour they'll probably get it from that, though whether they'll do anything is another matter... Its your word against theirs bear in mind...

Its pointless contacting the police, its your word against theirs. If they do not admit it then there is nothing the police can do without witnesses. Ive known one case turn round and the person who contact the police be prosecuted for dangerous driving. Id would not waste your time and use the time getting your tyre changed.

Same happened to me the other week. Ripped rim protector and took a chunk out of the alloy. The tyre itself though is ok.

Will get it refurbed when i put my taxi wheels on for the winter......as i 'kerbed' it again going over a broken drain the week after. Sometimes makes me wonder why i bother having a nice car and nice wheels.

Thankfully the damage to the alloy looks minimal and largely cosmetic - should be easy to get a cheap touch-up paint job rather than a full refurb. On the other hand the tyre is definately fooked - how much wear had you got out of it?

The main mark on the alloy I think is just rubber off the tyre. And I would say the tyre was half worn, having been on since February.

ah, well could have been worse (thetre's always a silver lining!), a learner driver forced me up a kerb a couple of years ago on 2 week old tyres and I got the dreaded side wall egg so it needed another one which effectively was just short of £140 down the pan - in your case think of it more as £60-70 so happy days ;)
