Just stumbled on to your website and forum. Looks good and lots of interesting conversation about the Skoda. I'm hooked on them after watching them compete in the WRC. Can't wait for the new WRC car next year.

We don't have Skoda in the "former colonies" so the closest things are the VW Jettas, Passats and the Audis.

Seems that Skodas do have quite a following in the colonies, noticed that over on VWVortex, but then you get cars over there that we can't get and you dont have to pay the best part of $5 for a gallon of gas, so I'd say it was only fair

As for the new WRC car, it will probably be released in the middle of next season, as that is when Skoda seem to introduce their cars eg the Evo 1 & 2 of the Octavia.

I found the BRISKODA forum from the www.wrc-online.net site. If it wasn't there is was off one of the related Skoda links.

Gas here in metro Washington DC is between $1.60 and $1.70/gallon. In the Baltimore area and points west (Frederick) it maybe 10 cents cheaper). Those are US dollars and US gallons. I'm hoping it will go up so it will drive the awful SUVs off the highway.

An interesting point to consider about the "colonial" lifestyle and society. Everyone is buying large SUVs, so they can "get to work" in bad weather with their large V8, 4 or AWD, ABS, etc. You know the ones..the Expeditions, Mountaineers, Land Cruisers, etc.....

Last Thursday it snowed about 10 inches in the Balto-Wash area. Friday morning the roads were mostly clear with some patches of slush and ice. Nothing your Chevy or Ford 2WD "beater" couldn't handle. Had to go downtown Baltimore on Friday and we didn't see a single large SUV all day. Only the Corollas, Civics, Fords, Chebbys and an occasional 4FWD (Wranglers, Suzukis and the like). Go figure....

This looks like a fantastic skoda resource! Much better than other BBS's I've been...

Oh and I wish my petrol was $1.60/gallon even at $5+ it doesn't stop all the school run mum's having oversize 4x4's here
