lowering my fabia

Featured Replies

Hi i am thinking about lowering my fabia

what i need to know really is to go for springs or coil-overs

haven't got much money to spend so i am on a budget

i have been looking at 60/40 but wanted peoples opinions and also if anybody has any pictures of the cars on springs would be helpful

thanks jordan

I personally used JOM Blue lines on my MK2 Golf and couldn't fault them at all! and as stated above you can set the ride height to your personal taste and if you oil the coilovers you will be able to change the height at will.

I had JOM on my mk2 golf

However Im really considering just lowering it on springs on shocks but how low im not to sure is 60mm to low

This is a question for Damian

I was just browsing dpmperformance.co.uk and had a look at the drop links as i need new ones and noticed that it says 'contact between the standard anti roll bar and the drive shaft when the vehicle is lowered' so i'm guessing that i would have to upgrade my standard drop links anyway if i were to get coilovers (JOM Coilover Suspension kit for the Fabia. Reason why i am asking is i want to to be safe than sorry. Also how far could you go before it starts to make contact.

This is for a fabia mk1 vrs

Thanks Arron

On JOMs I used Mondeo drop links. Cost me £14 for two. I was all they down though

On the VRS you'll be able to lower about 40mm without any problems but it is always best to have the adjustable drop links as you can alter the length to suit perfectly.

Cheers just have to make sure I'm in now

Woo Hoo just received my coil overs yesterday, right, down to business now, i know there is a guide on here for changing springs but is there a reason why i need to remove the track rod ends as last time i did this i could not remove them due to the tip where the trq's bit is supposed to go had corroded away, the question is do i have to remove them or not?

No you don't need to undo the T.R.E's

good good better not tell my friend that then lol cost him 2 new ones lol :p
