radio code

Featured Replies

Hi all,

recently had a new flywheel and clutch....and so the battery was disconnected...

I think I have the radio code on my master key gob...but how do I enter it.. I can get the number in ...but what button do I press to STORE the thing ?

Or am I in completely the wrong place....I think iI have a chassis number or radio serial number or something too...long string of numbers.

any help gratefully appreciated.

You shouldn't need to enter any code. The radio is tied to the ECU. Leave it for 15 minutes and it should sort itself out.

You should only need the code if it's moved to a different car.

Copies of the manual are available online somewhere.

it says "SAFE"....should I just leave it turned on for a while then ?

Hiya,

I emailed SKODA last week and just had a reply....take it to a dealer, there may be a cost involved. So I rang the dealer they suggested in Morecambe....the mechanic said it will come on, but may take up to an hour....

don't go spending any money ..just leave the radio on when you are next out for a skoot.

Nope doesnt work for me I left mine on while driving.down to buy a gearbox from devonutopia. About 3.5hrs and nothing lol.

Which is why my local dealer wants my car sent away to be investigated or something :(

Are you sure it is the original radio? If it has been replaced you need the code. Have you taken the radio out, some nice soul might have written the code on it.

The Symphony is soft coded to the car, Try this,

Both stereo and ignition on,

Turn stereo off

Turn ignition off

Stand for a couple of minutes

Turn ignition on

Turn stereo on.

It should communicate with the ECU and unlock itself, Hopefully!

I will go try it now...not having the stereo manual doesn't help. It is the original radio

Try attachments out (book front included) - worked for me when I disconnected battery for a long period.

Sorry pictures are so big, I did try to reduce them, but failed miserably.

When my radio displayed SAFE I had to take it to the dealers for them to code it again.

oh well , nothing worked...took it to the dealer ...5 mins and the machine...£15 + VAT...sorted..

But it is a disgrace that we have to do that. As it happens the code I was entering was not the REAL code anyway.
