I just kept trying and eventually the clips did pop off, try use a flat screwdriver and prise the clips up they do come off eventually lol.

All went well!!! Got there in the end, must admit it was one of the trickier jobs I've done!! :wonder: Just wondering, I've noticed the last few times (since) it seems louder, a lot louder for the first 5 or so minutes then calms down? Then I start it again and its fine. I did loose a bit of coolant when I pulled the pipe off inadvertently but its not near the minimum, any suggestions?

you might have disturbed the SAI system, it only runs for the first couple of minutes on a cold start

I did a few tests yesterday, starting the engine, then cancelling, then starting again and there were very noticeable differences, first time was very loud for just over a minute then second time fine. I suspect there's something going on with the secondary air pump making the noise and I managed to find this from our VAG neighbours Secondary Air Pump repair UKMKIVS any Skoda how to's here or is it practically the same?
