EGR help!

Featured Replies

I bought a front mounted intercooler with EGR delete earlier in the year. Come to fit it and I can't fathom it out.

Before the EGR valve is what I am guessing is the throttle body?

If it is did they change it on later fabias?

I think it's called a shudder valve mate.

Has a butterfly inside that opens and closes.

Should be on all Vrs from what I've read.

You did well to take the egr off. That one rear bolt is a nightmare to get too!

later ones (BLT engine) are different to the earlier (ASZ engine) yes. I think the newer ones had an electronic anti shudder flap (someone correct me if I'm wrong) whereas the ASZ is vacuum activated off the vacuum block by that pipe you have swinging free there (so i'm guessing yours is ASZ), have you got the wrong EGR?

Mines a later one. It's an 06 plate. So do I need this?

You don't need it, some people have EGR delete kits, but you'll get an EML without it properly mapped out. Search for EGR delete to get an idea.

its an anti shudder valve...stops the engine instantly when you turn ignition off...when you fit an egr delete you'll need to remove this and your egr valve...you will also need to unbolt the pipe with the 2 bolt flange that you can also see in the pic from the exhaust manifold and blank it off on there with a blanking plate...and plug the rubber hoses you've removed from egr/anti shudder valve.
