I just got a phone call from the Warranty company for Skoda...

Since its been a year I purchased my Fabia vRS and the warranty has ran out... they are offering me to re-new the warranty for £260 or something like that. It covers everything from timing belts to gearboxes. It sounds too good to be true, I put the car to a garage of my choice and they phone the warranty company who authorizes the work to be done and I don't need to pay a penny...

For talk sake I said what if my gearbox goes? I get a new one free of charge? then she went on to say that the syncro's etc are covered in the warranty...

Has anyone got this and had to do it before and what was it like if you have? Trouble free?

It's insurance nothing more. Do you feel something big is likely to go bang in the next year? Could you effort to do a repair if it did happen?

Like all insurance statistically you car is not likely to go wrong in any way that will cost more than the premium. Otherwise they wouldn't make any profit from it.

If you can afford £260 I'd suggest you put it in a bank account and leave it for the year. If anything goes wrong you've got £260 to cover it or go towards the costs. If nothing goes wrong you've saved £260 plus a few pennies interest.
