Hello, i am hopin that you can help me, i have put a deposit down for a Fabia Vrs 1.4, but i am worried as i have been told that they do not do the 47mpg average that they should do, and its more like 25 mpg. If this is the case, 25 mpg, it not very good, so i thought i would asked before i commit to life spent in petrol stations.

My journey to work, is only 6 miles most of which is spent on the motorway, but i do drive up to scotland and down to cornwall, so i hope on these journeys i would see better mpg figures.

Do any of you lot, get the figures that Skoda published?

I'm getting between 35 and 40 out of mine on a 20 mile commute. It averages about 400 miles to the tank. and gets better economy on motorway runs. If I had your 6 mile commute i'd use the push bike and find another route other than the motorway.....

I do cycle to work, but in the winter, its not a safe cycle ride. Anyway i was really interested in the mpg

You can expect 400 miles to a tank once it's been run in, so roughly 40mpg. You'll get more though if you are conservative but it's hard on the vRS :p
