I can't remember exactly, but I think it's 3 allen or cross head screws. Two are visible when you look at it, and one is in an incredibly awkward position around the back. You should be able to undo the two bolts / screws at the front of it and then pivot the EGR on the remaining screw to get at it I think?

As for cleaning it just spray liberally with some kind of degreaser / carb cleaner and give it a good scrub with an old brush should do the trick. You may be surprised at the amount of crap in there

Worth doing the same thing to your intercooler and boost pipes too if you have the time to take the front bumper off (not too difficult really).
